AmericanTown's Heros: Neil Barber ALWAYS a Hero
|
Neil Barber, age 45, passed away peacefully on August 27th from complications from pneumonia. Neil suffered from Mental Illness for over 27 years.
Prior to his illness, he was a popular and outstanding athlete at Manhasset High School and Canterbury Prep School. More importantly, Neil was a wonderful person who fought his devastating illness with incredible courage and never complained. His illness wrecked havoc with his brain, but never with his heart. He always helped others less fortunate than himself, and we were blessed to have him in our lives. His charity, NeilsWheels, will continue to destigmatize Mental Illness and to raise food for Hungry Families. In Honor Of Neil PLEASE donate to the Brain & Behavior Foundation, the leading organization trying to find cures for all Mental illnesses. Other ways to Support NeilsWheelsNY |
Success Story Dealing With Mental Illness
Last fall, I got a call from a mom who wanted me to print her daughter, Nicolette's book, featuring her mental health journey. Nicolette’s mom's key request was to print the book environmentally, using 100% Post-Consumer Waste Recycled Paper.
Nicolette’s mom's key request was to print the book environmentally, using 100% Post-Consumer Waste Recycled Paper. I said, no problem, especially since my own son, Neil Barber, dealt with Schizophrenia for over 25 years. Seasons to Bloom by Nicolette Amato |
