Neil Barber’s Holiday Wishes-2013
Dear whoever helped myself and my father:
With a vision that targets those who may not have it as good as myself or others, I have learned a lot about helping those people, especially during the Holiday Season.
The reason I am writing this letter, is because it makes me feel like I’m doing something positive. And believe you me, the little things , such as a co...uple of cans of food, add up so that the homeless will feel good about themselves, and also for those people that are suffering to make ends meet, can feel a little better about themselves.
I was amazed at the response that all my friends out there have given me. Life was super cool in 7th and 8th grades for me, but when I hit 9th grade I withdrew from my old friends. I guess you could say I was questioning what life was all about.
I am sorry that I didn’t answer back to all the letters I received from my friends after our 20th reunion party from high school (class of 92). I can imagine my friends at the reunion who came up to my Dad with stories and letters for me, and also to those friends that didn’t approach my pop, because they may have been nervous.
I’m getting better each and every day and the higher uppers tell me someday I will be getting out of this hospital. I can understand if you might not have enough time to spend with me, and that’s ok. Just the fact that you took the time to let me know that you guys are in my corner, is awesome to me. I loved getting the notes about how things were back in middle and high school.
For those that didn’t respond to me, you are in my thoughts, each and every day. I pretty much know who you are. I extend to you my love for a good life.
It is getting pretty wild that we are getting closer to the BIG 40. And believe it or not, I can still play B-Ball pretty well. As a matter of fact, I believe that I am the best athlete in this joint, which is not saying much.
I can’t wait to see all of my friends who took the time to give me hope and dreams of better days to come. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah to my Jewish friends.
So I bid you a farewell that comes from my heart and hopefully we could believe that one day I can go where I want to go, and when I want to go, and see who I want to see. I thank you again, and I love all of you.
Love Neil
